The design of the Nike Air Max 97/1 in collaboration with Sean Wotherspoon is, without exaggeration, one of the most iconic and influential sneakers of the last decade. The technical brilliance of this sneaker lies in its fusion: Wotherspoon decided to unite the wavy lines of the Air Max 97 upper with the classic and unmistakable midsole and outsole of the original Air Max 1. For the materials, he eschewed traditional leather or mesh and opted to cover the entire shoe with thick corduroy.
